A Personal Beginning

It Started With Me

I spent a large part of my childhood in hospitals as a cardiovascular patient. I saw firsthand how overwhelming medical environments can be for children not just physically, but emotionally.

O2 began from that lived experience.

What Was Missing

Care focused on treatment, but emotional support was often an afterthought.

There were few spaces designed to help children feel safe, supported, and understood during care.

I knew something more human was needed.

Building With Purpose

I built O2 by combining research in neuroscience, art and sound therapies, and sensory experience with thoughtful design creating something that feels gentle, imaginative, and supportive rather than clinical.

Every detail is intentional.

Designed From Love

O2 is designed from love, for children, families, and care teams.

It exists to support emotional wellbeing alongside medical care, not replace it.

This is the platform I wish had existed when I was young.

How it works

At O2 we love a creative hollistic approach

It Starts With the Child

Hospitals can be overwhelming. Especially for children.
O2 meets children where they are, offering gentle support during moments of stress, uncertainty, or waiting.

No expectations. No pressure. Just support.

A Digital App Designed for Children

O2 is a hospital-deployed pediatric digital mental health support platform for iPhone and iPad . It integrates into care workflows to help children regulate distress during procedures and treatment.

O2 uses structured sensory and creative interventions to support emotional tolerance of care while capturing measurable behavioral signals for clinicians.

Designed from lived pediatric hospital experience and grounded in clinical research, O2 complements existing medical and psychosocial teams — not replaces them.

Design is central to O2. The interface is intentionally welcoming and non-threatening so children can engage during stressful care moments without avoidance or escalation.

A Guided Experience, Not a Medical Task

O2 offers short, guided sessions that children can use:

  • at the bedside

  • before or after procedures

  • during long stays or repeated visits

Sessions are designed to fit naturally into hospital routines independently or with a caregiver or care team.

Our Pillars

Community

Children aren’t meant to experience healthcare alone. Connectivity is healing.

O2 is designed to support:

  • families navigating long or stressful hospital journeys

  • care teams offering psychosocial support

  • child centered support groups for all units

When appropriate and governance-approved, O2 helps create moments of shared experiences, regulation and connection around the child.

Creativity

Creativity gives children a way to express themselves when words are hard to find.

Through AI guided creative prompts and visual engagement informed by art-therapy practices, O2 helps children:

  • explore their inner world

  • regain a sense of agency

  • engage their imagination during care

Creativity is not about performance. It’s about expression.

Wellness

Wellness in O2 focuses on emotional cognitive and sensory support.

Inspired by research into frequency, rhythm, and sensory regulation combined with gentle visual stimulation, mediation and guided micro-interventions O2 supports:

  • emotional regulation

  • coping during stressful moments

  • readiness for rest, focus, or procedures

These experiences are non-invasive and designed to work alongside medical care, not replace it.

Grounded in Research, Delivered With Care

O2 is informed by established research across neuroscience, sound, music, and art-based interventions in pediatric care. It is built for deployment within hospital care pathways and evaluated through structured clinical validation.

These approaches are widely studied as safe, non-invasive, adjunctive supports for reducing distress, isolation and supporting emotional wellbeing in hospital environments.

O2 is designed to work alongside medical care, with careful attention to safety, ethics, and real-world hospital use.
